Way Of The Roses
Realtively new coast
to coast cycle route. For 170 miles between Morecambe and Bridlington, this highly popular route passes through historic cities York and Lancaster, and lesser known
gems such as Settle, Pateley Bridge and
Ripon.
From coast to coast, you'll cycle across beautiful, varied landscape including the Lune Valley, Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Wolds and use traffic-free paths, on-road cycle lanes, country lanes and quieter roads. It's a challenge but rewarding cycling adventure for all
Grassington
One of the best loved of the many delightful small towns in the dales and is fast becoming a destination village due to its attractive location on the river Wharfe, surrounded by beautiful open countryside

Look out for the annual Grassington and Dickensian festivals
Skipton
Bustling market town and major southern gateway into the Yorkshire Dales. The town is famed for its acclaimed local produce, farmers markets and pretty craft and independent shops along the award winning high street

Don't miss out a trip to the spectacular Skipton castle
Cycling & Walking
The area is famed for its excellent walking and cycling with routes to suit all ages and abilities. Two of the local highlights are the spectacular Malham Cove, a 260 feet limestone amphitheatre and Gordale Scar with its evidance of early settlements, medieval fields and mining sites.

Recommended highly for keen bird watchers
Climbing
The world famous Malham Cove provides some of the most spectacular climbing in the country. Central Walls of steep compact limestone provide the best sport climbing in the Pennines (best grades F7a to F8c). A right wing of superb trad lines gives the best routes in the HVS to E4 category. A left wing has shorter worthwhile easier routes (S to E1) and short technical but less popular, hard trad up to E5
